BNV : এমশঃ রহবিয়াম তাঁর রাজ্যের ভিত সুদৃঢ় করে একজন ক্ষমতাশালী রাজায পরিণত হলেন| কিন্তু এরপর রহবিয়াম ও যিহূদার পরিবারগোষ্ঠী প্রভুর বিধি ও নির্দেশ অমান্য করতে শুরু করলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at the establishing of the kingdom of Rehoboam, and at his strengthening himself, he hath forsaken the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.
RV : And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

KJV : And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

ERVEN : During the fifth year that Rehoboam was king, Shishak king of Egypt came to attack Jerusalem. This happened because Rehoboam and the people of Judah rebelled against the Lord.

ERVEN : Shishak had 12,000 chariots, 60,000 horse riders, and an army that no one could count. In Shishak's large army there were Libyan soldiers, Sukkite soldiers, and Ethiopian soldiers.

BNV : জেরুশালেমে এসে উপস্থিত না হওয়া পর্য়ন্ত শীশক যিহূদার সমস্ত দূর্গ নগরীগুলি দখল করতে লাগলেন|
KJV : And he took the fenced cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
YLT : and he captureth the cities of the bulwarks that [are] to Judah, and cometh in unto Jerusalem.

BNV : সেই সমযে, ভাব্বাদী শময়িয়, রহবিয়াম ও যিহূদার নেতৃবৃন্দ য়াঁরা শীশকের আক্রমণের কারণে জেরুশালেমে এসে জড়ো হয়েছিলেন তাদের কাছে গেলেন এবং বললেন, “প্রভু বলেছেন: ‘রহবিয়াম, তুমি ও যিহূদার লোকেরা আমায় ত্যাগ করেছো, অতএব একইভাবে আমিও তোমাদের শীশকের বিরুদ্ধে আমার সাহায্য ছাড়াই যুদ্ধ করতে ছেড়ে দিয়েছি|”‘
KJV : Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and [to] the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
YLT : And Shemaiah the prophet hath come in unto Rehoboam and the heads of Judah who have been gathered unto Jerusalem from the presence of Shishak, and saith to them, `Thus said Jehovah, Ye have forsaken Me, and also, I have left you in the hand of Shishak;`

ERVEN : Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah. The leaders of Judah had gathered together in Jerusalem because they all were afraid of Shishak. Shemaiah said to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, "This is what the Lord says: 'Rehoboam, you and the people of Judah have left me and refused to obey my law. So now I will leave you to face Shishak without my help.'"

BNV : তখন রহবিয়াম ও যিহূদার নেতারা বিনম্র হলেন, অনুতাপ করলেন এবং বললেন, “প্রভু তো ঠিক কথাই বলেছেন, আমরা পাপাত্মা|”
KJV : Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD [is] righteous.
YLT : and the heads of Israel are humbled, and the king, and they say, `Righteous [is] Jehovah.`

BNV : প্রভু যখন দেখলেন যে রাজা ও তাঁর নেতারা বিনীত হয়েছেন এবং অনুশোচনা করেছেন তখন তিনি শময়িয়কে বললেন, “যেহেতু রাজা ও নেতারা বিনীত হয়েছেন ও অনুতপ্ত হয়েছেন, আমি ওদের ধ্বংস করবো না, কিন্তু জেরুশালেমকে শীশকের সেনাবাহিনীর হাত থেকে মুক্তি দিয়ে আমার রোধর থেকে তাদের কযেকজনকে অব্যাহতি দেব|

ERVEN : The Lord saw that the king and the leaders of Judah had humbled themselves. Then the message from the Lord came to Shemaiah. The Lord said, "The king and the leaders humbled themselves. So I will not destroy them, but I will save them soon. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem.

KJV : Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

BNV : মিশররাজ শীশক জেরুশালেম আক্রমণ করে প্রভুর মন্দিরের সমস্ত ধনসম্পদ লুঠ তো করলেনই, রাজপ্রাসাদের যাবতীয় সম্পদও তিনি অপহরণ করে সঙ্গে নিয়ে গেলেন| রাজা শলোমনের বানানো সোনার ঢালগুলোও শীশক নিয়ে যান|
KJV : So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

KJV : Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed [them] to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house.

ERVEN : King Rehoboam made more shields to put in their places, but they were made from bronze. He gave them to the guards on duty at the palace gates.

KJV : And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, from the time of the going in of the king to the house of Jehovah, the runners have come in and lifted them up, and brought them back unto the chamber of the runners.

ERVEN : Every time the king went to the Lord's Temple, the guards took out the shields and went with him. After they were finished, they put the shields back on the wall in the guardroom.

BNV : রাজা রহবিয়াম এমশঃ জেরুশালেমে নিজেকে ক্ষমতাশালী রাজা হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছিলেন| তিনি 41বছর বয়সে রাজা হয়েছিলেন এবং ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত অঞ্চলগুলির মধ্যে থেকে প্রভু যে স্থানটিতে নিজের নাম রাখার জন্য বেছে নিয়েছিলেন সেই জেরুশালেমে 17 বছর রাজত্ব করেছিলেন| রহবিয়ামের মা নয়মা ছিলেন একজন অম্মোনীয়া|
KJV : So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam [was] one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. ERVEN : King Rehoboam made himself a strong king in Jerusalem. He was 41 years old when he became king of Judah. Rehoboam ruled 17 years in Jerusalem, the city the Lord chose for his own. He chose this city from all the other cities of Israel. Rehoboam's mother was Naamah. She was an Ammonite.

BNV : রহবিয়াম বিভিন্ন অসত্‌ কর্মে লিপ্ত হয়েছিলেন কারণ তিনি অন্তঃকরণ থেকে প্রভুকে অনুসরণ করেন নি|
KJV : And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.
YLT : and he doth the evil thing, for he hath not prepared his heart to seek Jehovah.

KJV : Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, [are] they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And [there were] wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
YLT : And the matters of Rehoboam, the first and the last, are they not written among the matters of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer, concerning genealogy? And the wars of Rehoboam and Jeroboam [are] all the days;

Those men wrote family histories. And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the time both kings ruled.
